Keep leading zeros in CSV product identifiers
Why 000101 must remain 000101 in SKU and barcode columns.
An identifier is text
An SKU such as 000101 identifies a product; it is not a calculation. Rowmend reads cells as text and preserves leading zeros when mapping and exporting.
Check spreadsheet imports
Use the spreadsheet data-import flow and explicitly choose text for identifiers. Formatting a number after its zeros were removed cannot recover the original value.
Do not guess missing digits
If the source contains 101, the tool cannot know whether the original was 101, 0101 or 000101. Check an authoritative source first.
Verify exported text
Inspect a small output sample in a text editor, or import identifier columns as text. Keep a separate change log when sharing revised product data.
